Murambi is no doubt one of the most vivid, profound and informative memorials in Rwanda! The museum also covers the role of the France in the genocide against the Tutsi.

Murambi Genocide Memorial Center is situated in the South West of Rwanda near Nyungwe Forest; about 4 hours drive from Kigali. More than 50,000 victims of the 1994 genocide against Tutsi are laid to rest at Murambi Genocide memorial site.The school classrooms contain 848 preserved corpses laying on display on wooden tables. There is also a former Volley-ball court built on top of mass graves by the French soldiers who were part of the Operation Turquoise. 


The tour starts early in the morning at 6am, we proceed to Nyamagabe district where the memorial is located. The guided tour takes about one hour or two. You will then drive back to Huye for a lunch break before exploring the King's palance museum on our way back to Kigali. You will be dropped off at your hotel around 6pm.
